Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
• Manage and monitor patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure.
• Administer emergency medications and manage dysrhythmias.
• Perform ventilator management and care of ventilated patients.
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias.
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and titrate vasoactive drips.
• Assist with procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and blood product administration.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, and respiratory services.
• Ensure infection prevention and isolation precautions are followed.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Experience with Epic charting system is preferred.
• Ability to float to PCU and other ICUs as needed.
• Flexibility to work every other weekend (EOW) coverage.
