ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Roswell, New Mexico
Join a high-acuity critical care team as an ICU Registered Nurse (RN) on a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Roswell, New Mexico. Care for critically ill patients in a 16-bed ICU while expanding your experience across intensive care, stepdown, and medical-surgical settings. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
- Location: Roswell, New Mexico
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Nursing Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.
- Weekly Hours: 36 guaranteed hours
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Call: Required; rarely needed
- Patient Population: ICU patients, stepdown patients, and medical-surgical overflow
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:2 in ICU and 1:3–4 in stepdown
- Additional Details: Floating to stepdown and medical-surgical units is required; holidays may be required, including at least one winter holiday
ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New Mexico
- At least 2 years of recent intensive care unit (ICU) nursing experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Ability to provide critical care to high-acuity patients and manage changing clinical priorities
- Flexibility to float to stepdown and medical-surgical units as needed
- Strong patient assessment, communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is preferred
ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to critically ill patients in a fast-paced ICU environment
- Monitor patient conditions, identify changes promptly, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
- Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical standards and provider orders
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and evaluate individualized patient care plans
- Manage ICU assignments with typical patient ratios of 1:2
- Care for stepdown patients at typical ratios of 1:3–4 and support medical-surgical overflow when assigned
- Complete accurate clinical documentation in the Cerner electronic medical record
- Respond effectively to emergencies and participate in required call coverage
- Support a safe, respectful, and patient-centered care environment across assigned units
