• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 - $2,010

• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Floating: Required to Stepdown and may float to the ED or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held
• Orientation: Pre-start modules required

Job Requirements

• Active Virginia RN license or compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of ICU nursing or critical care experience required; 3 years preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) required
• Strong neuro critical care experience required, including post-neurosurgical care, EVDs, and stroke patients
• Experience with ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, conscious sedation, and dysrhythmia management
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Ability to pass required EKG testing with an 80% or higher on the first attempt
• Must be eligible to work in a setting that does not accommodate PAPR use
• Must have no prior license or background hits
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility for RN consideration

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care to complex ICU patients with neurological, respiratory, renal, surgical, trauma, and cardiac conditions
• Monitor and manage ventilators, vasoactive drips, sedation, telemetry, and emergency interventions
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction, sepsis, heart failure, and post-surgical recovery needs
• Perform skilled nursing interventions such as arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and EKG interpretation
• Support patients requiring advanced ICU therapies including CRRT/CVVHD, hypothermia protocol, ICP monitoring, EVD care, and fresh tracheostomy support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, rapid response, radiology, and social services
• Float as needed to Stepdown or to ED/Med-Surg areas caring for ICU-level patients held in those units
• Maintain safe, accurate, and timely charting while meeting unit and compliance requirements throughout the assignment
