  • Schedule Options: 3x12s or 4x12s
  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Required to Stepdown; may also float to the Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical units to care for ICU patients being held
  • Holidays: Holidays within the contract are required
  • Contract Duration: 21 weeks
  • Start Date: 08/24/2026
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,910 - $2,010
  • Patient Ratio: Typically 1:2-3
  • Orientation: Pre-start modules required

Job Requirements

  • Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand at time of submission
  • 3 years of critical care nursing experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
  • Strong neuro critical care experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Experience with ventilator management, IV drip titration, telemetry monitoring, and conscious sedation
  • Ability to recognize and manage dysrhythmias and respond to critical care emergencies
  • Must pass required EKG testing with an 80% or higher on the first attempt
  • Must be able to comply with radius, fit testing, and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care to critically ill ICU patients with neurological, respiratory, renal, trauma, sepsis, cardiac, and post-surgical needs
  • Monitor and manage ventilated patients, vasoactive drips, sedation, and telemetry
  • Support complex neuro care, including post-neurosurgical patients, stroke management, and EVD-related care
  • Perform ongoing assessments, intervene quickly in emergencies, and communicate changes in patient condition
  • Safely administer therapies and maintain accurate documentation in Epic
  • Float as needed to Stepdown or other designated units based on patient care needs
  • Work collaboratively with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV teams, rapid response, and other interdisciplinary partners
  • Follow all compliance, orientation, and testing requirements to ensure a smooth start
