Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac ICU position requiring 2+ years of ICU experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CICU) unit
  • Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
  • RN-only staffing with no unit secretary or tech support
  • Uses ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia equipment
  • Documentation via Cerner
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • 36 hours per week with alternating weekends, 12-hour shifts
  • Travelers required to float to all areas

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications appreciated but not required
  • Skilled in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
  • Experience with ventilators, trachs, and telemetry interpretation required
  • Strong understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup/interpretation required
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • One professional reference required (two required for FL and MO)

Additional Information

  • Care for critically ill cardiac patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and support
  • Assist with procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
  • Experience with transvenous pacing, TEE, and chest tube maintenance is beneficial
  • Scrub colors must be all navy or navy and white, no pullovers or hoodies, and no green scrubs except when soiled
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
