Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 5-bed ICU (expanding to 10 beds) serving adult and geriatric populations — no pediatric patients
  • Manage critically ill patients with diagnoses including DKA, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical recovery, electrolyte imbalances, overdose, and psychiatric presentations
  • Operate and monitor equipment including ventilators, BiPAPs, IV drips, and glucometers
  • Document patient care accurately using the Medhost EHR system
  • Maintain patient ratios of 2–3:1 in alignment with unit standards
  • Adhere to all required certifications and comply with the Tennessee Abuse Registry check prior to assignment start

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN licensure valid for practice in the state of Tennessee
  • ACLS certification required prior to start
  • BLS certification required prior to start
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHS) certification required prior to start
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU/Critical Care experience
  • Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as a travel candidate

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior critical care travel nursing experience
  • Familiarity with Medhost or similar EHR platforms
  • Experience managing ventilator-dependent patients and vasoactive drips
