Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and readiness to float across multiple critical care units.

Details

Inpatient Float Pool position floating to all ICU units as needed, including Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn ICUs
May also float to stepdown units as needed
Patient ratios generally 1:1 to a max of 1:3 in ICU, and 1:3 in stepdown
Night shift schedule, 7:00pm - 7:00am
36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours
Every other weekend (EOW) required
Every other holiday (EOH) required
No on-call responsibilities
Block weekend scheduling available

Requirements

Active RN license in North Carolina or compact license required
Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
ACLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Minimum of one year of nursing experience required
Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited nursing program required
BSN or MSN preferred

Additional Information

Provides direct clinical nursing care to critically ill patients across multiple ICU specialties
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop and evaluate patient care plans
Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required
Educates patients and families and assesses learning needs and readiness
Assesses and prioritizes complex patient care needs including discharge planning
Promotes a safe, clean, and cost-effective care environment
Participates in unit performance improvement activities
