Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring ICU experience, Cerner proficiency, and at least one prior travel assignment.

Details

  • Works primarily in the IMC unit with potential to float to the ICU
  • Night shift schedule (4x12 hours), 19:00-07:30
  • Every other weekend required, totaling 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) within a six-week period
  • Uses Cerner EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license - compact or Maryland (MD) license required
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required within the last 7 years
  • Cerner charting system experience required
  • Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
  • Must pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum 80% overall score and 100% on lethal rhythms
  • Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment, supporting at least 2 years of experience in the previous 3 years
  • Flu vaccine required

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing support in IMC with potential ICU floating responsibilities
  • Candidates living within 60 miles may be considered local and accepted at a lower pay rate
  • No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, which must be submitted upfront
  • Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • Manager interviews are not guaranteed; candidates should be comfortable proceeding without one
  • Facility-specific compliance modules must be completed within one week of signing the contract
  • Labs and drug screening appointments must be completed within 48 hours of signing
