Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with 1.5+ years of critical care experience and active NC or compact RN licensure for a night shift assignment.

Details

  • Work in a 16-bed ICU/IMU unit at a 294-bed Joint Commission accredited facility
  • Treats adult patients with diagnoses such as COPD, ARF, DKA, sepsis, and shock
  • Patient ratios are ICU 2:1, IMU 3:1, and Tele 1:5
  • Shift is 7P-7A with every other or every third weekend required
  • Floating required, including to telemetry overflow
  • No call requirements
  • Uses cardiac monitors, Hill-Rom Progressive Care beds with scale, Abbott glucometer, EndoTool, Bair Hugger, TR band, Hotline 3 fluid warmer, Baxter IV pumps, and bedside dialysis capability
  • Documents in Meditech EMR
  • Reports to Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) required
  • Minimum 1.5 years of ICU/critical care experience required
  • Associate degree required, BSN preferred
  • Strong EKG interpretation and critical thinking skills required
  • Knowledge of critical drip titration, including vasopressors and sedation, required
  • Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Deliver critical care nursing services to adult ICU, IMU, and telemetry overflow patients
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable personality preferred
  • Artificial nails not permitted
  • No assigned scrub color
  • Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
  • Previous permanent staff employment at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months is not permitted
  • Must not be employed elsewhere full-time
