Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an ICU/IMU position requiring 1.5+ years of critical care experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• Hospital setting within a combined ICU and IMU unit, 16 beds total
• Adult patient population with common diagnoses including COPD, ARF, DKA, sepsis, and shock
• Patient ratios of 2:1 in ICU, 3:1 in IMU, and 1:5 on telemetry overflow
• Uses cardiac monitors, Hill-Rom Progressive Care beds with scale, Abbott glucometer, EndoTool, Bair Hugger, TR band, Hotline 3 fluid warmer, Baxter IV pumps, and bedside dialysis capability
• Meditech EMR used
• Shift options of 7A or 7P, 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend requirement of every other or every third weekend, 12 hours
• Floating required
• No call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license, NC or compact, required
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1.5 years of ICU/IMU experience required
• Associate degree required, BSN preferred
• EKG interpretation skills required
• Critical thinking skills and knowledge of critical drip titration (vasopressors, sedation) required
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Active Nursys/licensure verification required at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Work under the supervision of a Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse
• Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable personality preferred
• Artificial nails not permitted
• Scrub color not specified
• Candidates must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to qualify for travel pay rate
• Local candidates within 60 miles may be considered at a local rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates cannot be employed elsewhere full time while on assignment
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule with upcoming start dates
