Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment requiring an active NC or compact RN license and critical care experience.

Details

  • Work in a 16-bed ICU/IMU unit within a Joint Commission accredited hospital
  • Adult patient population with common diagnoses including COPD, ARF, DKA, sepsis, and shock
  • Patient ratios of ICU 2:1, IMU 3:1, and Tele 1:5
  • Shifts available 7A or 7P, 36 hours per week
  • Weekend requirement of 12 hours every other or every third weekend
  • Floating required, with additional tele overflow coverage possible
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses cardiac monitors, Hill-Rom beds with scale, Abbott glucometer, EndoTool, Bair Hugger, TR band, Hotline 3 fluid warmer, Baxter IV pumps, and bedside dialysis capability
  • Charts using Meditech EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or compact) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1.5 years of ICU/IMU experience required
  • Associate degree required, BSN preferred
  • EKG interpretation skills required
  • Strong critical thinking skills and knowledge of critical drip titration (vasopressors, sedation) required
  • Artificial nails not permitted

Additional Information

  • Report to the Clinical Staff Lead or Charge Nurse
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable personality preferred
  • Must reside 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel pay rate
  • Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
  • Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
