Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in a mixed ICU/Step Down unit requiring 2 years of critical care experience.

Details

  • 20-bed mixed ICU/Step Down critical care unit
  • ICU patient ratio of 2:1 and Step Down ratio of 3:1
  • Floating required to sister unit 5S for Step Down 1:3 or progressive care 4:1 patients
  • Night shift schedule from 19:00-07:30
  • Weekend and holiday rotation commitment required
  • Patient population includes severe respiratory failure, sepsis/septic shock, hemodynamic instability, neurologic conditions, metabolic/endocrine disorders, cardiac conditions, and GI/hepatic failure
  • Utilizes continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, arterial lines, mechanical and noninvasive ventilation, titrated IV medications, and enteral/parenteral nutrition

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IN or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA)
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Must provide full SSN and DOB, driver's license copy, skills checklist, and 2 separate references

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing for high-acuity ICU and Step Down patients, including management of invasive lines, ventilators, and titrated medications
  • Must have a US Social Security Number and a US home address
  • Radius rule applies; local candidates accepted but may receive a reduced rate depending on distance from facility
  • First-time travelers may be considered
