Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • Trauma ICU experience required, preferably in a Level I or Level II trauma center
  • Surgical ICU experience required
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced critical care setting
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and compassionate approach to patient care
  • LTAC experience is not considered for this role

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct bedside care to critically ill surgical and trauma patients
  • Monitor, assess, and respond to patients with complex, high-acuity needs
  • Perform and assist with advanced ICU procedures as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
  • Support safe, timely interventions for intubation, extubation, chest tube placement, central line placement, A-line placement, bronchoscopy, proning, CRRT/HD, and more
  • Accurately document patient care in Cerner PowerChart
  • Float to other ICUs or step-down units as needed, with travelers floating before core staff
  • Maintain professionalism, positivity, and excellent patient experience standards
