ICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Position: Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (ICU RN)
• Location: Westwood, New Jersey
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770–$1,870
• Start Date: November 10, 2026
• Contract End Date: February 9, 2027
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: Three 12-hour day shifts per week
• Shift Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Charting: Epic experience preferred

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license in New Jersey or a valid Compact license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1.5 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Strong critical care assessment, prioritization, and clinical decision-making skills
• Ability to complete required core compliance items and laboratory requirements within 48 hours of contract signing
• Applicants must reside outside the 50-mile local radius requirement
• All requested time off must be disclosed at the time of submission

ICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients in the Intensive Care Unit
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, continuous IV sedation, cardiac drips, and vasoactive medications
• Titrate medications safely according to clinical protocols and patient response
• Provide care for mechanically ventilated patients and manage BiPAP and CPAP therapy
• Interpret arterial blood gases and perform appropriate respiratory assessments
• Provide airway suctioning, including ETT and nasotracheal suctioning, as clinically indicated
• Apply appropriate isolation precautions and personal protective equipment practices
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support safe, evidence-based patient outcomes
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record
