Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the ICU with potential to float to Progressive Care and Medical Surgical units
  • Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • 48 hours per week preferred, with 36/48 alternating schedules considered
  • Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license in-hand required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS required
  • PALS or ENPC required within 1 year of start date
  • PALS and TNCC preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Travel experience required
  • Experience with IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, and arterial line management
  • Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory therapies (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, suctioning)
  • Experience with titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation/paralytics
  • Experience managing neurological conditions including CVA/stroke, TBI, and post-craniotomy care
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols and acute/chronic renal failure management

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients with complex medical needs
  • Facility conducts its own mandatory drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
  • Candidates must reside within a 110-mile radius of the facility
  • Local candidates are not accepted
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
