Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of general ICU experience and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • General ICU setting treating a mix of surgical, medical, CVICU, and neuro ICU patients
  • Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:00
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • May be required to float to other campuses or units

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required; TNCC preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent permanent ICU experience required (new grads with 1 year ICU experience plus travel assignments do not qualify)
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial/PICC line management, and blood product administration
  • Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous sedation, and paralytics
  • Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with neurological care including EVD, ICP monitoring, and post-craniotomy/neurosurgery management
  • Altera charting experience preferred but not required

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care to a diverse ICU patient population including cardiac, neuro, and surgical cases
  • Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with zero tolerance for positive results
  • Candidates must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer or have a documented plan for timely completion
  • Previous permanent staff must have a 1-year gap before returning as a traveler
  • Travel experience preferred but not required
  • Must reside 150 miles or more from the facility to be eligible
