Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week day shift assignment requiring 1.5 years of ICU experience and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

  • Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting
  • Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Epic charting system preferred

Requirements

  • Active NJ or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (NIHSS preferred)
  • Minimum 1.5 years of ICU nursing experience required
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line and central line care/management
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
  • Able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and perform ETT/NT suctioning
  • Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and proper PPE use

Additional Information

  • Provide direct bedside care to critically ill ICU patients requiring close monitoring and intervention
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be accepted
  • Previous staff members must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off must be submitted and listed at time of consideration
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Onboarding requires completion of core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
