Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring a VA or compact RN license and critical care skills including ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring management.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 255 staffed beds
• ICU unit assignment
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 26-week assignment length
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• May float within scope to acute care during low census, maintaining a 1:4 ratio
• Meditech charting system used (experience preferred)

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required, 2 years preferred
• Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Skilled in ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and management of acute/chronic renal failure preferred
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills required
• Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring devices such as IABP, Impella, and Swan Ganz preferred
• No prior travel experience required, though ICU experience is necessary

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients, including hemodynamic and ventilator management
• Zero-tolerance policy for THC; medical marijuana cards not accepted
• Drug screening required during compliance and again on day one onsite
• Fit testing required; candidates must be clean-shaven or provide an approved medical exemption letter prior to starting
• Scrub color requirement: black or Caribbean blue
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside 50+ miles from the facility
• Not eligible if previously employed permanently at the facility within the last 24 months
• Holiday coverage required based on how many holidays fall within the assignment period
