Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with critical care, trauma, and neuro experience for a high acuity Respiratory Care Unit position requiring an active FL or compact RN license.
Details
- Work in the Respiratory Care Unit, a high acuity stepdown ICU setting
- Patient ratio is 3:1, with a maximum of 4:1 depending on staffing
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Floating required as needed
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Travel pairs will not be considered
Requirements
- Active FL or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications via AHA required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 3 years of recent critical care experience with acute/chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
- Trauma and neuro experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Degree must be from an accredited school, or from an FBON-approved institution with 2 years of recent consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
- Candidates from Operation Nightingale Schools will not be accepted
- Charge RN, SICU, MICU, trauma, and stroke experience preferred
- Cerner experience preferred
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to high acuity patients requiring ventilator support in a stepdown ICU setting
- Facility is a smoke-free environment
- Local candidates accepted within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate
- Former Broward Health permanent employees must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates must complete a pass/fail EKG and basic arrhythmia assessment as part of onboarding for this critical care area
