Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a high-acuity Respiratory Care Unit stepdown position requiring critical care, trauma, and neuro experience.

Details

  • High acuity ICU stepdown unit specializing in respiratory care
  • Cares for acute and chronically ill patients requiring ventilator support
  • Patient ratio of 3:1, up to 4:1 depending on staffing needs
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Floating as needed
  • Holiday coverage as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active FL or Compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certification via AHA required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 3 years recent critical care experience required
  • Trauma and neuro experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Degree from an accredited school or FBON-approved institution required
  • If FBON-approved degree, must have 2 years of recent, consecutive acute care experience within the past 24 months in a US hospital
  • Must pass EKG/basic arrhythmia competency testing
  • Successful completion of Florida AHCA Level 2 background screening required, including fingerprint-based state and federal criminal history checks

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to high-acuity respiratory patients requiring ventilator support
  • Strong critical care assessment skills required
  • Charge RN, SICU, or MICU experience preferred
  • Availability for overtime preferred
  • Willing to work stepdown ratios of up to 4:1 when necessary
  • No blocked scheduling requests permitted
  • No requests for holidays off permitted
  • No extended RTO beyond 4 days
  • Smoke-free facility
  • Local candidates considered within a 60-mile radius at a lower pay rate
  • Travel pairs will not be considered
  • Former Broward Health employees must be separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • Candidates from Operation Nightingale schools not accepted
