Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting nursing care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. This role will utilize specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills to provide care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients, with a focus on those suffering from stroke-related conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' conditions to create individualized care plans.
• Provide nursing care in accordance with established protocols and standards.
• Document all nursing care provided and patient responses to treatment.
• Supervise and direct nursing care provided by other staff members.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.

Required Experience

• 2+ years of recent experience in an Intensive Care Unit.
• 2+ years of experience working specifically with stroke patients.
• Previous travel nursing experience is required; locals accepted with no rate change.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active RN license in Maryland (verification must be less than 30 days old).
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Active NIHSS Certification upon submission, must be current.
• Must be willing to complete mRs/SIREN Certification within 48 hours if offered.
• Must be willing to take a Basic EKG course and score 85% or higher within 48 hours if offered.
• Flu vaccination record and COVID vaccination record required; no declinations accepted.
