Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift contract position requiring critical care experience and NIH Stroke certification.

Details

  • Work in a 22-bed ICU at a hospital
  • Patient ratios of 1:2, sometimes 1:1
  • Uses specialized equipment including IABP, Impella, ventilators, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, SLED/TABLO machines, Belmont rapid infuser, traction, EVD, nitric oxide, and Hemisphere
  • Meditech EMR used
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Alternating weekend requirement
  • No call requirements
  • 13-week assignment

Requirements

  • Active RN license (TX or compact) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent critical care/ICU experience required
  • Trauma credentials (TNCC, CATN, TCAR) preferred
  • Post-op cardiac surgery experience preferred
  • No work history gaps of 90 days or more in the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions
  • Typical procedures include rapid sequence intubation, CABG and valve replacements, thrombectomies, EVD insertions, SLED/TABLO, MTP, cardioversion, IABP/Impella, TNK administration, vasopressors, and IV sedation
  • Best suited for driven individuals willing to learn and adapt, team players who accept constructive feedback, and strong patient safety advocates
  • Navy scrub color required
  • No permanent positions currently available on this unit
  • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
  • No local candidates will be considered
