ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills
• Ability to provide compassionate care in a fast-paced acute care and intensive care setting
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities

ICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill and medically complex patients
• Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly escalate concerns
• Administer medications and treatments safely according to established protocols
• Perform ongoing nursing assessments, document care accurately in Cerner, and evaluate patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, ancillary staff, patients, and families
• Support safe transitions of care and contribute to individualized patient care planning
• Maintain a clean, organized, and clinically safe patient-care environment
• Float to the Emergency Department when needed and within competency
