Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN with a TX or compact license to provide critical care in a Medical-Surgical ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio.

• Medical-Surgical ICU setting
• 1:2 patient ratio
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:00), with 36 or 48 hour options
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS and PALS preferred
• 2 years of ICU experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, and interpreting ABGs
• Experience with continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure management
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Experience with IV insulin protocols
• Experience in Neuro ICU and Surgical ICU settings

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medical-surgical ICU patients
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Previous staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be submitted and approved at time of consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Core onboarding items and labs must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Onboarding modules are completed onsite during orientation
