Unit Overview

• Number of Beds: 32
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Unit Staffing Description:
  • Student nurse externs available as techs
  • Unit secretary available Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM
• Type of Equipment: Hill-Rom beds, Phillips telemetry monitors
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 4-week schedules, requiring 3-4 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Floating Policy: Float as needed to units where required based on unit census

Position Requirements

• Must have significant cardiac experience and strong critical care proficiency
• Advanced Skills Preferred:
  • PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring
  • IABP
  • Impella
  • CRRT
• Procedures Performed on Unit:
  • Central line insertion
  • Swan insertion
  • Intubations
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS

Dress Code

• Scrubs (galaxy blue, red, black)
• Scrub jackets or vests only
