Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Level I Trauma ICU position requiring Epic charting experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in the ICU of a Level I Trauma hospital
  • Unit has 14 rooms and 16 beds
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • 13 week assignment length
  • Floating required to ICU, IMC, and Tele as needed
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (PALS and TNCC preferred)
  • 2 years of ICU experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Level I and Level II Trauma experience preferred
  • Skilled in respiratory/thoracic care including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients (ventilator management preferred)
  • Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
  • Skilled in neurological care with ICP monitoring preferred
  • Skilled in cardiac monitoring, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing services within a Level I Trauma ICU setting
  • Candidates residing in certain nearby Texas counties are not eligible for contract consideration
  • Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted as locals
  • Previous staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be disclosed at time of consideration
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
