Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with a Trauma Level I background for a 13-week assignment requiring CA licensure and travel experience.

Details

• Work in the ICU of a Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Includes Medical, Neuro, Surgical, and Trauma ICU settings
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Requires 4 weekend shifts within a 4-week cycle
• Holiday coverage required, including the holiday weekend
• May float within skillset or below, across 5 hospital campuses (excluding the ED)
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license in hand at time of consideration (Temp or Perm, no EMSA)
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; TNCC preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU-specific experience, with recent experience within the past year
• 1.5+ years of continuous experience in specialty without breaks (except for floating or equivalent ratio experience)
• Travel experience required, including 1 year total travel experience and 6+ months of continuous travel experience leading up to consideration
• Epic or combined Epic/Cerner experience required within the last 6 months
• Trauma Level I hospital experience required
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management, arterial and central line care, CRRT/CVVHD, ICP monitoring, and titration of vasoactive and sedation drips
• Experience managing post-craniotomy, stroke, and traumatic brain injury patients
• 1 supervisory-level professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ICU setting managing complex medical, surgical, neuro, and trauma cases
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to manage ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients
• No first-time travelers considered for this position
• Returning staff or travelers must wait 1 year before reapplying
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off (RTO), with no additional requests after consideration
• Candidates must live outside a 100-mile radius to qualify, and those on assignment in San Diego for 9+ months are considered local and ineligible
• International travelers must have at least 1 year of recent U.S. work experience
