Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU/MSICU) setting, managing assignments based on patient acuity and nursing skill set
  • Operate and monitor advanced ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage dialysis machines, Arctic Sun temperature management systems, and GE Cardiac Output monitors
  • Assist with and support bedside procedures including central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, and intubations
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using the Meditech electronic documentation system
  • Float to other units as needed per facility policy

Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Minimum 2 years of hospital-based ICU experience (MICU or MSICU)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with Meditech electronic health record documentation system
  • CCRN certification or active pursuit of certification
