Unit Overview
This unit focuses on providing exemplary critical care. The ICU environment is fast-paced and requires skilled professionals to deliver high-quality care to patients with complex needs.
Qualifications
- Required Skills:
- 2+ years of critical care experience
- 2+ years of hospital or travel experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Preferred Skills:
- Rotoprone experience
- Exposure to Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), specifically Prismaflex
- Experience with Meditech documentation system
- Licensure:
- Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses are not accepted)
Typical Procedures Performed
- Central line placement
- Bronchoscopy
- Bedside tracheostomy
Dress Code
- Scrub Color: Navy (undershirts and jackets must be white, navy, or black)
- Nail Policy: No acrylic nails, must be clean and no chipped nail polish
- Hair: Must be off shoulders and be of natural color
- Tattoos: Must be covered whenever possible; those that cannot be covered will be addressed individually
- Piercings: Visible body piercings other than the ears are prohibited
Additional Information
- Travelers are required to float as needed; floating to other areas may occur based on patient census
- Work four weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling cycle
