Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care for patients in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that patient needs are met efficiently and compassionately.

Shift Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Hours: 7A - 7:30P / 7P - 7:30A
• Weekend Requirements: Rotating
• Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Call Requirements: No

Unit Highlights

The ICU unit provides a range of advanced care and services. The following details outline specific unit requirements:

• Documentation System: Meditech
• Attendance Policy: Be on time for scheduled shifts (clock-in time of 6:38 AM/PM; after 6:45 is considered tardy)
• Lunch Break: A full 30-minute lunch is required
• All travelers are required to float, as per facility policy.

Qualifications

Successful candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Required Skills:
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of ICU experience
  • ACLS Certification
  • BLS Certification
  • NIH Stroke Certification
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in MICU and MSICU
  • Familiarity with Meditech charting/ order entry
• Specialty Certifications:
  • ACTIVE Texas RN License (TEMP LICENSE NOT ACCEPTED)

Procedures Performed on Unit

The unit is equipped to perform various procedures including, but not limited to:

• Chest tubes
• Trach insertions
• GI scopes
• Intubations
• Central lines
• Arterial lines
• NG tubes
• Foley catheters
• Dressing changes

Dress Code

All staff members are expected to adhere to the following dress code:

• Scrub Color: Navy scrub top and pants, with a navy or white scrub jacket.
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy nails.
• Hair: Neat and clean; no extreme styles or colors. Beards, mustaches, and sideburns must be neatly trimmed.
• Tattoos: Body art should be covered whenever possible. Non-coverable body art will be addressed on an individual basis.
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited.
