Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Nurse position is based in a prominent healthcare facility located in San Francisco, California. The role involves providing critical patient care in a fast-paced environment with rotating shifts. Candidates must be adaptable, capable of floating to different departments, and possess recent critical care experience to meet the demands of this dynamic assignment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 09/01/2026.
- Required Qualifications: California Registered Nurse (RN) license, BSN, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Minimum of 4 years recent ICU experience, current experience in ECMO within the last 6 months to 1 year, experience caring for ECMO patients as a bedside RN independently managing complex critical care patients, strong interpersonal communication skills, and ability to float to various UCSF departments and facilities.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with VA ECMO, VV ECMO, PA ECMO, CRRT (NxStage), IABP (Teleflex), Impella, Ventricular Assist Devices, and transplant recovery (heart/lung). Academic medical center experience and managing multiple support devices simultaneously are a plus.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: This position requires experience with advanced cardiovascular support devices such as ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD, CRRT, and PA Catheter. Candidates must have completed references in hand at submission, and all RTO (return to work) time must be disclosed at the time of offer. The role involves utilizing the Epic charting system and working in adult ICU patient populations with a variety of diagnoses, including transplant and critical cardiovascular conditions. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to independently manage complex patients across multiple critical support devices.
