Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of ICU experience and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

  • Medical, Surgical, and Neuro Intensive Care Unit setting
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:00
  • Every other weekend required
  • Patients include ventilated, cardiac, and multisystem organ dysfunction cases
  • Skills utilized include cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and care of ventilated patients
  • Epic EMR experience preferred

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MO or Compact) required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in arterial line management, central/PICC line care, blood product administration, and IV insulin protocols
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and ETT/NT suctioning preferred
  • Able to manage patients with respiratory failure and multisystem organ dysfunction
  • Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing including cardiac, respiratory, and neurological patient management
  • Must work 4 of 8 designated holiday dates including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year holidays
  • Navy scrubs required
  • Must be clean-shaven to ensure proper mask seal for respirator fit testing; no medical or religious exemptions accepted
  • Candidates must complete OSHA Respirator Clearance prior to start
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Travel experience is not required
  • Candidates must live more than 70 miles from the facility to be considered
  • Clinicians cannot work more than 1 year as a traveler without taking a 6-month break before returning
