The role involves providing critical care for patients with complex conditions, including heart transplants, LVAD patients, and post-surgical cases. The position requires flexibility to float between units and work in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Job Details

  • Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Nights
  • Shift Schedule: 12-hour shifts, scheduled based on unit needs, with a minimum of 48 hours per week
  • Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience; preferred experience in a busy hospital with high-acuity patient care, previous travel experience, and 3+ years of nursing experience.
  • Location Requirements: Candidates must be open to floating and be flexible on scheduling, including weekend and holiday shifts.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Care for critically ill patients, including those with heart transplants, LVADs, and requiring advanced therapies such as CRRT.
    • Manage titratable and set-rate vasoactive drips for cardiac patients.
    • Utilize EPIC electronic charting and read monitors, including hardwire monitoring.
    • Collaborate with a charge RN, charge nurse, and RT staff.
    • Support patients with devices like LVAD, Impella, IABP, CRRT/SLED, and others.
    • Follow unit-specific procedures and protocols, including orientation with preceptors.
  • Additional Notes:
    • First to float depending on competency.
    • No call or standby requirements.
    • Proper scrubs are teal.
    • Successful candidates have previous ICU and travel experience and have worked in a busy hospital setting.
