Job Summary
ICU Nurse Travel Opportunity in an Acute Care Setting. The registered nurse (RN) will be responsible for coordinating nursing care, including direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care within a dynamic ICU environment. This role supports professional nursing practice across settings and the continuum of care to meet patient and family needs.

  • Position Overview: The ICU RN is accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. The RN demonstrates leadership through mentoring, informal leadership roles, and quality improvement efforts. Delegation of patient care is based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal accountability, and resource availability.
  • Required Qualifications: Licensure as a registered nurse in applicable state, minimum of 2 years of recent acute care ICU nursing experience, 6 months of travel experience, and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) are preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ventricular assist devices (VAD), Impella, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), or balloon pumps.
  • Schedule: Rotating shift, 8 hours per shift, with a minimum of 40 hours per week, including day/night rotation and every third weekend.
  • Additional Information: The RN will support professional nursing practice, participate in quality improvement projects, and contribute to team mentorship. Travel experience from the past six months is required, with at least one year of recent travel experience preferred.
