Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit (RN ICU)

Position Summary Provides high-acuity nursing care to critically ill or unstable patients in the Intensive Care Unit, closely monitoring vital signs, administering complex medication regimens, and managing life-support equipment.

Key Roles and Duties

  • Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Continuously evaluate the physiological status of critically ill patients, interpreting data from specialized monitors, ventilators, and hemodynamic equipment to detect acute changes.
  • Critical Interventions: Administer high-risk medications, titrate vasoactive drips, manage advanced airway devices, and execute emergency protocols (e.g., CPR, code blue responses) independently or in collaboration with physicians.
  • Care Plan Execution: Implement and adapt individualized, evidence-based nursing care plans tailored to trauma, post-surgical, or medically compromised patients.
  • Equipment Management: Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain specialized ICU technology, including mechanical ventilators, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) machines, and intracranial pressure monitors.
  • Family Communication & Support: Act as a primary liaison between the multidisciplinary medical team and families, delivering compassionate updates, clarifying complex clinical information, and facilitating end-of-life care discussions when necessary

Weekends required
Float: May be floated to MS, Stepdown, PCU, ER, CVICU. Capped at 4 patients maximum while floating

50 mile local radius, locals not accepted
