Job Summary
Registered Nurse Intensive Care Unit. Provides comprehensive nursing care to acutely ill patients through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team while responding effectively to rapidly changing clinical conditions and maintaining evidence-based standards of care.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience; valid and unrestricted California Registered Nurse license; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications; completion of an accredited registered nursing program; knowledge of advanced nursing theory, techniques, practices, medical terminology, nursing equipment, and the uses and effects of medicines and narcotics.
- Preferred Qualifications: Associate or bachelors degree in nursing preferred.
- Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week; schedule includes 1 day shift and 1 night shift.
- Additional Information: Provides individualized care to acutely ill patients, performs comprehensive assessments, develops and evaluates care plans, implements nursing and physician orders, establishes nursing diagnoses, and prioritizes interventions using critical thinking and nursing judgment. Collaborates with the healthcare team, manages rapidly changing patient conditions, activates emergency protocols when appropriate, follows infection control and medication administration procedures, participates in professional governance and staff development activities, and maintains required competencies and continuing education.
