Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Neuro ICU/SICU travel position requiring prior travel experience and Trauma Level One background in a high-acuity academic medical center setting.

Details

  • Work in the Surgical and Neuroscience Intensive Care unit of a Level One trauma academic medical center
  • Cares for trauma, surgical, and neurological ICU patients
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Rotating holiday coverage required
  • 48-hour work weeks may be accepted upon request
  • No blocked scheduling permitted

Requirements

  • Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required, including trauma, surgical, and neurological ICU patients
  • Trauma Level One experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Minimum 1 professional reference from a supervisor or manager within the past year (charge nurse references not accepted)
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US Social Security Number required (Canadian SIN not accepted)
  • Medical exemption required for flu declination (personal or religious exemptions not accepted)
  • Competency test required within 24 hours, with up to 2 attempts to pass

Additional Information

  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Local candidates residing within Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
  • More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week contract will result in termination, with required make-up shifts completed within 6 weeks
  • RTO must be requested at time of submission
  • Travel pairs are not accepted for this position
