Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position available in a healthcare facility setting. This role involves caring for critically ill patients with complex needs, including neuro, cardiac, and post-surgical cases. Candidates will provide specialized nursing care within a high-acuity environment, following established clinical protocols and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shift, 12 hours per shift, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Self-scheduling is available, though not always guaranteed.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification, BLS (Basic Life Support) certification, NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification, at least 3 years of ICU experience, with travel experience and Cerner electronic medical record system experience preferred.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro or cardiac specialized units; candidates with verified skills in neuro, cardiac, or related ICU environments will be considered for travel contracts.
  • Additional Information:
    • Unit encompasses 20 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 to 2, may be 1 to 1 depending on patient needs.
    • Responsibilities include managing neuro, cardiac, and post-surgical patient care, including ventilator management, vasoactive drips, ICP monitoring, and other critical interventions.
    • Must have at least 3 years of ICU experience; travel experience is preferred.
    • Float to intermediate care units or observation floors may be required after orientation.
    • Orientation includes 3 shifts of training.
    • The facility operates with a shared hospitalist team and has on-call intensivist coverage after hours.
