Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) position located in the designated facility. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients, including those with complex cardiac conditions, stroke, septic shock, and postoperative care. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, ensuring compliance with all practice standards, and supporting a patient-centered, healing environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, every third weekend.
- Required Qualifications: Current New York State Registered Nurse License; BLS Certification from the American Heart Association, Heartland Safety Institute, or American Red Cross; minimum of three (3) years nursing experience, including experience with intensive cardiac patients (CHF, COPD, end-stage heart failure, cardiogenic shock, septic shock, GI bleeds, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and normothermia), stroke patients (thrombectomy/TNK); skills in collaboration, communication, judgment and critical thinking, organizational understanding, planning, problem solving, quality, reliability, safety and risk management.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing; CCRN certification; relevant skills certifications such as ACLS, PALS, TNCC as per the home unit requirements.
- Additional Information:
- Assesses, plans, delegates, and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary or accountable nurse as designated.
- Educates patients and families on health promotion and disease management.
- Utilizes pharmacology knowledge to safely administer medications per hospital policy.
- Participates in the Nursing Shared Governance Model, supports unit improvement initiatives, and engages in professional development and continuing education.
- Provides a supportive environment for new employees and students.
- Performs duties related to Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator roles when assigned.
- Participates in the Clinical Ladder Program as expertise develops.
