Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) registered nurse position is located in Marion, Illinois. This contract role is designed for experienced RNs with a strong background in neuro assessment and critical care. The position involves night shifts and requires adaptability, resilience, and the ability to manage change effectively.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks, starting on 08/10/2026
  • Required Qualifications: Illinois state nursing license, American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS); 2 years of ICU experience, preferably 3 years; at least one travel assignment completed; skills in NIHSS, dysphagia screening, neuro assessment, tele/ECG interpretation (assessment via exam first day), endotracheal tube/managing ventilators (RT available), initiation/titration of sedatives, paralytics, cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, insulin; sepsis protocols, post-resuscitation therapeutic hypothermia.
  • Preferred Qualifications: tPa administration and assessments, massive transfusion (Belmont).
  • Shift Notes: 12-hour night shifts, with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
  • Additional Information: The unit has 18 beds, serving a mix of ICU and step-down level care, with patient ratios of 2:1 in ICU and 3:1 in step-down. The unit has a stable core staff and increases in volume necessitate traveler support.
  • Float: May be required to float to step-down level care if needed.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine: Not required, subject to change.

  • Education: Associate Degree or Certificate.
