Job Summary
Registered Nurse, Intensive Care Unit. The position provides comprehensive nursing care across the patient-care continuum, including assessment, clinical interventions, documentation, patient education, and safety practices. The role supports pre-operative and postoperative care and Pre Admission Testing (PAT) activities for surgical patients.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The schedule includes every other weekend and one winter and one summer holiday.
- Required Qualifications: Licensed Registered Nurse; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; graduate of an accredited school of nursing; minimum of 1 year of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Associate or bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include conducting systematic and comprehensive patient assessments; providing direct nursing care; managing emergency equipment and procedures; maintaining accurate patient records; supporting patient and family education; applying National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, safe transfer techniques, and proper body mechanics; and evaluating Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for completeness and appropriateness. The position supports care for surgical patients across pre-operative, intraoperative, and postoperative stages.
