Job Summary
The Chicago, Illinois area is seeking an experienced Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join a Level 1 Trauma Center. This position involves providing specialized nursing care in a busy, teaching hospital setting with a focus on critically ill patients in a Magnet-designated facility.
Job Details
- Position: RN ICU Medical/Surgical, MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit) 6 Tower MICU
- Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications; 2 years of ICU experience; Ohio Registered Nurse license or state license; Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher; Level 1 Trauma Center experience preferred; capable of handling complex patient cases including multi-system organ failure, stroke, post-cardiac procedures, and ventilated patients
- Support on the Unit: CNA support, resource nurse, 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, resident physicians, and other advanced support staff
- Responsibilities include managing ventilators, chest tubes, arterial lines, Swan Ganz catheters, vasopressor and sedation titration, CRRT, balloon pumps, and wound vacs
- Additional Information: Orientation includes two shifts with one at the SICU. Travel staff may float to the Surgical ICU, Telemetry, or Medical/Surgical units.
