Job Summary
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse position is based in an acute care setting. The role involves providing specialized patient care for critically ill individuals, ensuring high-quality, safe, and effective treatment in a fast-paced environment. The nurse will coordinate and implement patient care plans aligned with unit standards and organizational goals.
Job Details
- Location Requirements: Current New Mexico Registered Nurse (RN) license or current Compact state license.
- Certifications: TNCC Certification, BLS Certification via American Heart Association (AHA), and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification via AHA.
- Experience: 3 years of ICU nursing experience required; minimum experience requirement: 0 years.
- Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities:
- Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing care priorities based on patient needs.
- Re-assess patient condition systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
- Develop and implement measurable, individualized care plans within established timeframes.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on evaluations and modify care plans as needed.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Perform Point-of-Care testing procedures.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and coordinate team activities to ensure quality patient care.
- Follow up on delegated care activities for completeness and quality.
- Promote a positive, supportive work environment, and assist with staff and unit development.
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and families to ensure positive outcomes.
- Adhere to safety, confidentiality, and hospital policies.
