Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift, 3x12.0 Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) ensures the delivery of quality care by adhering to the nursing care plan. This position involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while maintaining a strong emphasis on patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide accurate and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program, focusing on direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate promptly about changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and training to ancillary nursing personnel, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Contribute positively to unit dynamics, providing calm direction and support to staff and families.
• Maintain communication with management regarding supply and equipment needs.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested following the orientation period.
• Engage in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience required.
• PCU/Critical Care experience preferred.

Schedule

This is a night shift position with a schedule of 3x12.0 hours per week.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
