Job Summary
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Not Specified. This role involves providing advanced critical care to patients in a high-acuity intensive care unit. The position requires managing ventilator support, post-cardiac procedures, sepsis, ECMO, PEs, post-stroke care, and other complex patient conditions utilizing specialized equipment and technology.
Job Details
- Position Description:
The ICU RN will deliver specialized care within a 24-bed unit that includes ICU and step-down patients, with patient ratios of 1:1-3. Responsibilities include managing ventilators, trachs, tube feeds, chest tubes, titrating drips, DKA management, and more, utilizing critical care skills and equipment such as CRRT, balloon pumps, and telemetry monitors. - Required Qualifications:
Must possess BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI certifications; relevant experience with intensive care patient types; valid license; ability to work shifts 06:45 AM - 07:15 PM, 06:45 PM - 07:15 AM; and at least 2 years of experience. - Support within the Department:
Includes a CNA/PCA per 8-12 patients, dedicated respiratory therapy 24/7, midlevel ICU providers, reception, charge nurse, phlebotomy, intensivist coverage 24/7, and telemetry monitoring. - Technology and Equipment:
Use of Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV Pumps, Phillips monitors, CRRT, Artic Sun, balloon pumps, EKOS, Prenumbra, Pacer, and other specialized ICU equipment. - Support and Orientation:
Orientation of 1-2 shifts in the unit, facility-specific onboarding. - Schedule:
Night shifts, 12 hours, minimum of 36 hours per week, with flexible block scheduling and no on-call requirement. Holiday shifts based on unit needs, no weekend rotation more than every other week. Parking is free.
