Job Summary:
The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) registered nurse position is based in the healthcare facility's ICU department. The role involves providing specialized care to critically ill patients across various units including MedSurg Tele, PCU, and inpatient holding areas within the Emergency Department. This temporary assignment is scheduled to start on 11/02/2026 and conclude on 02/01/2027.
Job Details:
- Certifications, Education, and Experience: Valid BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications, with at least 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Responsibilities: Management of post-procedure cardiac patients, including post MI, post-cardiac cath, and CABG post-operative care on days 3-4 post-op. Capable of titrating drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Operational Details: Unit utilizes nurse aids, monitor techs, and specialized equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, and heated high-flow devices. Staff must interpret ECG strips and be comfortable with electronic charting on Cerner.
- Shift and Holiday Requirements: Working every other holiday, with call or standby duties when staffing needs dictate. Staff will be notified 2 hours prior to shifts via text message.
- Additional Notes: Orientation includes an 8-hour general hospital overview, plus specific shift training at respective campuses. Candidates must be willing to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple units within the facility with potential to float between units.
