Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift position requiring an active MI license in hand and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• ICU setting caring for adult patients
• Patient diagnoses include DKA, COVID, acute alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMI, respiratory distress, and CHF exacerbation
• Staffing ratio of 1:3 on all shifts
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:30-7:00)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating within service line/scope of practice as needed
• Uses Pyxis medication system
• Uses Epic for charting
• Utilizes SBAR communication method

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required in hand
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy and arterial line management required
• Central line care/management and PICC line management experience preferred
• Experience with care of ventilated patients required
• Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips preferred
• Two professional references from within the last 24 months required
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to adult ICU patients with complex medical diagnoses
• Manage dysrhythmias and respond to cardiac emergencies as needed
• Care for ventilated patients and manage various vascular access lines
• Navy and white scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility will not be accepted
• Floating to other units and/or facilities may be required
• Returning staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year
• Requests for time off of 7+ days require manager approval and cannot include holidays or days surrounding holidays
