Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a Medical-Surgical ICU position requiring a TX or compact RN license and 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• Medical-Surgical ICU setting with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
• 13-week assignment length
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications in ACLS and BLS required, with NIHSS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
• Skilled in care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and ventilator management
• Experience with CVVHD/CRRT, AKI, and renal failure management preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to medically and surgically complex ICU patients
• Responsibilities may include managing cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and renal conditions depending on unit needs
• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris counties are not eligible for this position
• Candidates residing within 50 miles are not accepted as locals
• Former staff members must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of consideration
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• Onboarding requires completion of core items and labs within 48 hours of contract signing
• Orientation includes onsite completion of required training modules
