Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Not specified. This role involves providing high-quality, patient-centered care within the ICU setting, ensuring adherence to care plans and promoting patient safety. The position requires supervising nursing staff and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS Certification required prior to first shift; ACLS required prior to first shift (CIRH only).
- Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum of two (2) years bedside clinical experience.
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Schedule: Days shift, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Responsibilities include performing nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission, developing and updating individualized care plans, documenting all assessments and interventions accurately, and participating in patient rehabilitation programs.
- Initiates discharge planning from the day of admission and provides patient education in anticipation of discharge.
- Ensures effective communication regarding patient status changes to support continuity of care and patient safety.
- Supervises ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks appropriately, and contributing to team-building activities.
- Maintains environmental and personal safety in accordance with hospital and nursing policies.
- Assumes charge responsibility following the orientation period, supports clinical training needs, and monitors supplies and charges to promote cost-effective care.
- Engages in professional development through continuing education and self-study.
- Performs other duties as requested.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
