Job Summary
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical nursing care in a hospital setting. This role involves coordinating patient care using the nursing process, assessing patient needs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal health outcomes. The position requires a strong foundation in ICU patient care and adherence to professional standards.
Job Details
- Location and Schedule: ICU Nurse in a hospital, working rotating shifts (day and night) on a 6-week schedule, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Nursing diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school; license to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; at least 1 year of nursing experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited school.
- Additional Information: This role involves performing bedside point of care testing, utilizing healthcare organization standards and policies, and participating in performance improvement activities. The nurse will also be engaged in discharge planning, patient education, and ensuring a safe environment. Candidates should be familiar with patient assessment and prioritization of care for patients with complex problems, including psychosocial, educational, and safety considerations.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates are expected to demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, participate in team discussions, and utilize multidisciplinary resources to plan patient care.
